Jiayu (Dennis) Xie
PhD
Postdoc in Computational Soft Matter Physics
Welcome to Jiayu’s personal webpage! I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, University of Göttingen in Germany. I work with Prof. Marcus Müller on the statistical mechanics and nonequilibrium phase behavior of polymer blends, and on the fabrication of filtration membranes through theoretical modeling and simulation.
I earned my B.S. in Applied Physics from Beijing Jiaotong University in 2018. From 2018 to 2024, I pursued my Ph.D. in the research group of Prof. An-Chang Shi at McMaster University in Canada. During my Ph.D., I focused on studying the formation of equilibrium complex structures in polymeric materials and interacting hard spherical particles using statistical field theory.
Outside of work, I enjoy working out, traveling, spending time with friends, and engaging in stimulating conversations on a variety of topics.
